Types of Representation

The types of legal representation which the Law Office of Anne C. Connolly offers to its clients include the following:

1. General/Full Representation in NH & MA

2. Limited Representation in NH & MA

Limited Representation allows a client and an attorney to specifically define the scope of the legal representation which is provided by the attorney to the client.  Instead of representing a client from the start of their case through the conclusion of their case this type of representation enables an attorney to represent a client for part of the case only.  For example, a client might wish to retain an attorney to represent them for purposes of:

a)   Reviewing a document(s) and/or agreement(s);

b)   Drafting a motion and/or other pleading;

c)   Drafting an answer to a motion and/or pleading which the client has received AND/OR

d)   Attend a specific hearing and/or meeting with the client

If after the contracted services have been completed and both the client and the attorney wish to extend their relationship they may choose to do so by executing a new contact.

In New Hampshire this type of legal representation is called either Unbundled Legal Services or Unbundled Representation whereas in Massachusetts this type of legal representation is called Limited Assistance Representation or sometimes is referred to as LAR.
